Band Members

Mr. Alton Best is an original band member of The Flummies. Alton plays the acoustic guitar, harmonica, and provides vocals. He helped form the band in 1978 and has never tired from the experience. Alton was born in the community of Mud Lake in central Labrador.

Mr. Richard Dyson is also an original founding member of The Flummies. Richard's talents include playing the accordion and percussion programming. He hails from the small fishing community of Batteau on the south coast of Labrador.  Richard lives in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Leander Baikie officially joined The Flummies in 1999 after several years of periodic performances with the group. Leander uses his ability to play lead and acoustic rhythm guitars, while also providing song writing and vocal skills. He was born, and lives, in North West River,  Labrador.

Eugene (Tunker) Campbell joined The Flummies in 1989. Tunker is a master acoustic and electric lead guitar player, and his talents include superb song writing and vocal skills. He was born into a musical family who originally resided in the communities of Rigolet and Mulligan, on the shores of Lake Melville. He makes his home in Happy Valley - Goose Bay.

Simeon Asivak plays the electric bass, and the acoustic and electric guitars. Simeon was born in Makkovik, Labrador but was raised in Happy Valley - Goose Bay. He began playing instruments when he was 19 and has played with a variety of local bands. Simeon joined The Flummies in March 1999.
